I am Kiera Daley, the 4th eldest of 9 children and my passion is music.
Silence defines their ears as darkness gradually overtakes their eyes. Three of my siblings carry the burden of Usher Syndrome which reveals itself through hearing loss and onset blindness through Retinitis Pigmentosa. While most people take for granted life in a world of vibrant color and plentiful sound, my older sister and two younger brothers cannot count on any semblance of a bright future. I am determined to abet in finding a cure.
I have invested twelve years into playing the piano and I want to use this gift not singly to extol myself, but also to provide benefit to others. My goal is to organize an educational fundraiser for Usher Syndrome and to raise awareness for this disability through a classical piano performance. I am zealous to begin this process. I have found the perfect venue, The Old Rock Schoolhouse in Valdese, and am now in the process of procuring corporate sponsors to back my event. Unlike a typical senior piano recital, my aspiration is to make an impact through raising awareness and gathering funds to support finding a cure for this disease that is so close to my heart. Come join me.
